FWhile most Hollywood stars do everything they can to appear cool, professional and squeaky-clean, diligently concealing all their nasty little secrets,
Angelina Jolie appears wholly unconcerned by controversy. Ever-keen to talk about her breakdowns, her disorders, her fantasies and her world-famous penchant for S&M, many would say she's built a career on titillating public confession. But she's also an increasingly fine and award-winning performer, her Oscar for Girl, Interrupted being only the first in a string of prestigious honours. Onscreen, as in bed, she is a risk-taker, and perhaps deserves to be seen as the spiritual sister of such greats as Streep, Pfeiffer and Lange. Beyond this, her international efforts on behalf of children and refugees have made her the most public-minded superstar since Audrey Hepburn.ilmography: The CompleteShe was born Angelina Jolie Voight in Los Angeles, on June 4th, 1975 - her name meaning Pretty Little Angel. RAB NE BANA DI JODI

The movie title is picked up from an old Amitabh-Shashistarrer called ‘Suhaag’ which had the song ‘Teri Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’,so this is the second movie-title picked from a Shashi Kapoor movie;earlier one being DDLJ. Anyways, that’s not what the post is about.Previously, it was suspected that the movie is on the lines of My FairLady. But neither the promo nor the dual role of SRK suggests that. Moreover, the plot of a ahi-fi society girl and/or impersonating has been done to death inmovies like Raja Jani, Khel, MKTA etcAnyways, I just got this mail that gives out a brief storyline of them.
ovieLet me first give abird’s eye view of the story. So, SRK a simpleton is married off to a much younger woman. He has asmall time job and lives an ordinary life, but his nubile wife wantssome action in her life, some enthusiasm and a break from this normalroutine. Here in comes the dance portion. There is a dance contesttitled ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ being aired [Nach Baliye types] and hiswife wants to take part in it. SRK overhears this smallaspiration/wish of hers and realises that he has kind of tied down herlife and feels he should try and fulfil her wishes. How he enters the sceneand the contest with her is to be watched out. He pairs-up with herand probably goes on to win the contest. Even if they don’t win thecontest, he definitely wins her over in the last reel of the moviewhen she realises that he is her good-old-hubby.This premise sounds pretty good and we can fairly fit in ShaimakDavar’s association, dance theme, SRK dual role and of course Big B’sguest appearance as one of the judges. But if we can recall, thistheme was a side-track in the movie ‘Aaja Nachle’, where Vinay Pathakredeems himself through the theatre/dance sequence and his wife findsnew respect and love for him.Anyways, I just hope there is more to the movie than this. But havingseen Adi’s movies, all of which have wafer thin plots, this is

Lets wait and watch, just a month to go before this year-end release.Keeping my fingers crossed that Adi has made a good ‘Jodi’

Rock On!!

Storyline
The film is about four friends, Aditya Shroff, Joe Mascarhenas, Rob Nancy and Kedar Zaveri aka KD ("Killer Drummer") who start a rock band and struggle to make it big in the rock world. Two parallel plotlines follow them at different times during their lives. They are both woven together at strategic points, which lends the film its much-praised nostalgic quality.
The first narrative thread shows the four friends in their early twenties when they were young, wild and carefree, and their main focuses in life were music and friendship. During this time, they create a band called 'Magik' and meet to practise regularly in an old basement.
A competition is announced, specifically for Indian rock bands, to be organised by Channel V, where the winner would be offered a contract for an album and at least one music video. The band need money for new instruments and they earn it by playing old Hindi songs at random Dandiya parties, even though it kills them to do so. They enter the competition and win, though it eventually turns out be their downfall.
They are forced to make a number of compromises while signing the contract, which creates some tension within the band. Joe feels the most slighted as his song is not included (making way for a remix of a random wedding song to capitalise on the upcoming "wedding season") and his girlfriend, Debbie (for whom he had written the song), an aspiring fashion designer, is refused the chance of being the band's stylist. Later, when the cameramen focus solely on Aditya during the filming of the music video, Joe confronts him, accusing him of trying to take over the band. Things get worse when the director rudely intervenes. Joe lashes out at both him and Aditya before marching out of the studio with Debbie.
Aditya, who had failed to notice anything much was amiss, is shocked and decides to leave as well. He packs his stuff, writes a note breaking up with his girlfriend, and leaves for Delhi. In this way, Magik disbands and its members, once the closest of friends, become estranged from each other.
The second thread follows the band members ten years later. Aditya is a high-powered executive in an investment banking firm. He is cold, impersonal and shuttered, and his wife Sakshi feels as though she doesn't know him at all. She plans a surprise birthday party for him and goes to buy him a watch. KD(KILLER DRUMER), who has joined his dad's jewellery business and who owns the shop, overhears Sakshi talking about Aditya and wondering whether it's his old friend, asks her to mention him to Aditya. Aditya, who has not told Sakshi anything about his past, denies knowing anyone called KD. Sakshi waves off the incident until she finds a box hidden in the closet with the lyrics of a song, a guitar pick and candid pictures and videos of Magik. Seeing KD in them, she contacts him and asks him to invite the rest of the band to Aditya's birthday party.
KD meets up with Rob (who now makes a living composing jingles for advertisements) and they go together to invite Joe. Joe is largely unemployed, earning a buck or two performing at weddings where nobody pays attention to the music. He has an eight-year old son, and the family is largely supported by Debbie, whom he has married, and who runs his family's fish business. Debbie, who still holds a grudge against the band for what she perceives as their ill-treatment of Joe, sends them away and forbids Joe from staying in touch with them.
At the party, Rob and KD plan a reunion at their old rehearsal hall (the basement) though Aditya, who wasn't too pleased seeing his friends again, is not too enthused. He confesses to Sakshi after the party that she should not have invited them. She retorts by telling him that all she wanted was to see him happy, especially now that they are having a child (Sakshi is pregnant). She leaves for her mother's house, saying that she cannot have a relationship anymore with a man who won't let her in.
The next day, Aditya goes to Sakshi's friend, Devika, for advice. She tells him to stop running away from his past, so he decides to meet his ex-bandmates at the basement. Joe is also there. He shakes hands with Aditya, wishes him a belated birthday and the band's differences seem to have been resolved. They start practising regularly at Aditya's house. Learning about this, Sakshi also returns home.
Soon, another contest hosted by Channel [V] is announced, and at Rob's insistence, they enter themselves. Debbie, who is adamant Joe get a regular job, arranges for him a guitar-playing job on a cruise liner, but the ship is to sail on the same day as the contest. When it is discovered that Rob has a brain tumour and his last wish is to perform with Magik one last time, Joe's choice becomes very difficult. Debbie insists that he go for the job, especially as their financial situation is so bad and they have a son to bring up. The contest is aired on the radio, and while Joe is in the taxi on the way to the airport with his family, he hears Magik play the song he wrote for Debbie so long ago, and dedicate it to him. He leaves the taxi and goes to the concert, reaching just as the song ends. On seeing him, the band immediately perform another song, which turns out to be their last together onstage.
In a short epilogue, it is revealed that Sakshi gives birth to a baby boy whom they name after their friend Rob who had died two months after their final performance. Devika, Sakshi's friend, gets into a relationship with KD, who starts a record company with Joe, which promotes new talent. Debbie pursues her dream of being a fashion designer. The band members and their families meet at least once a week.

Nanga Parbat (8125 m.) is the western most bastion of the Himalayas. One has to travel completely around the globe to come back to the Himalayas to see such high peaks on our planet. The word 'Nanga' means naked and 'Parbat' is mountain.

This immense massif made a never-to-be-forgotten childhood impression on us. Masood saw this peak rising into the heavens when he was only five years old! It is a sight that is as vivid as it was then; 35 years ago.

Nanga Parbat is also a killer mountain. Many climbers died on it before it was summited by the great Hermann Buhl without supplemental oxygen in 1953. His epic climb is still unsurpassed.

We are honored to say that it was at our uncle's clinic in Lahore where Hermann Buhl came to recuperate and was treated for his death-like state.

Nanga Parbat is also located where the continents have collided. Here the Indian plate is going under the Asian plate at a rate of about few inches a year.
Consequently, Nanga Parbat is still rising. In fact it is the fastest rising mountain in the world!
This is a land of superlatives. The view of Nanga Parbat from the Indus River is one of the most awesome sights in the world. This largest land escarpment in the world consists of a rise of about 7000 m. from the base of the mountain to its summit. On the other side of Nanga we have the famous Rupal Face; the tallest wall in the world with a sheer 4500 m
.The journey traditionally called: 'Around Nanga Parbat' actually goes halfway around the mountain. It offers us stupendous sights of this Himalayan giant. The crossing of Mazeno Pass (5,399 m.) is a technical endeavor where ropes are fixed on steep pitches.
The trip is for anyone who wants to get close to this legendary mountain and feel its presence deep down in one's soul! This is a challenging trek in Pakistan's Himalaya

Mount Damavand, Iran

Five finger Mountain, Azerbaijan.
A mountain is a landform that stretches above the surrounding land in a limited area usually in the form of a peak. A mountain is generally steeper than a hill. The adjective montane is used to describe mountainous areas and things associated with them., and the study of mountains is known as Orology.
There is no universally-accepted definition of mountain, though some definitions have been created and applied. Often, whether something is called a mountain depends on what it is called by the local people. One more objective definition is that mountains are land areas that are >2,500m in height, or 1500-2499m if their slope is >2 degrees, or 1000-1499m if their slope is >5 degrees and local (radius 7km) elevation is >300m, or 300-999m if their local (radius 7km) elevation is >300m.[1]
